Dancing Queen

Miss Olivia chose to do ballet in the spring so I got her in a class at Nashville Dance Center. As luck would have it,  some little girls from our neighborhood were also in that class. She had two fantastic teachers, Brandy and Megan, who made her experience wonderful!

Her first day of class!

The day we picked up her recital costume she had to strike a pose.

Picture day!

During the recital she did a great job! But afterward it was total meltdown. She would not smile for photos.  Check out the attitude in these pics!

Spring Soccer

Bennett decided to play soccer in the spring. We signed him up at St. Barts and he got to be on a team with some of his buddies from the last season he played.

Anniversary Trip

In February, Houston and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary by taking a little trip. We drove to North Carolina just outside Gatlinburg to a small town called Bryson City. They had some great little cabins with beautiful views of the mountains where we enjoyed several days of relaxing.  It was very snowy and majestic. The snow melted after a day or so, but we it was great while it lasted!

On our drive up we took a scenic route because our GPS told us it would be faster.  We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Apparently this road is used by Bikers in nice weather and is one sharp curve after the next. We escaped without me getting too terribly car sick, but it was an adventure for sure.  I could make out the skyline just enough to know that were were very high up and that was a creepy feeling in the dark.

So anyway, our cabin was a cute little one bedroom with a big deck.  We got settled in early so we could get up the next morning for Houston to go fly fishing.  Apparently this area is known for outdoor activities, especially rafting and fly fishing.  Houston had a guide with him and they spent the day in the great outdoors while I spent the day doing absolutely nothing. It was great!

Later that night we make our way to Harrah's Casino because they apparently had some of the nicest restaurants in the area.  It was an interesting drive through Cherokee territory.  The casino was beautiful but it was crazy how it was just out in the middle of nowhere.

The next morning we drove over to Asheville for the day. We had lunch at a hotel near the Biltmore and then toured around for awhile. Even in February it is an impressive place to visit. It reminded us our last trip to the Biltmore together back when were were in College and just dating. Houston was my date to our formal my senior year.  That was a fun trip and it was great just to be in that place again and experience those memories.

Our trip was lovely and a great way to enjoy a February anniversary. Next year I'm thinking somewhere tropical!!

Bennett still loves trains so I took this shot for him.
Houston's Rainbow trout in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
We did a lot of driving and there were some incredible views of the park!

Then of course we had these crazies to welcome us home! Kids are the best!

Oh Christmas Tree!

Having small children is so much fun at Christmas! This year Bennett and Olivia were totally into everything about the season. We made so many great memories as always!
Dinner at Bethlehem was a great time! I'm thankful for our wonderful church!
Best friends forever
They love Aunt Beth! (She always has suckers in her purse!)
Christmas Card photo shoot was not a happy time for June, but the kids thought it was so awesome!
Olivia loved Santa. Bennett did NOT
He couldn't even look at him!
 Christmas cookie making
 These pictures are priceless
 They love each other

 Complete and total joy!

October and November

Then it was fall and all those holidays that come back to back. First was Houston's birthday, then Halloween and Thanksgiving. We had some good times this fall!

Olivia had a great time at the pumpkin patch with her class! Unfortunately I didn't get to go with Bennett's class this year.

Our neighborhood has a parade before trick or treating every year.  Peter Pan and Tinker bell stole my heart!

 Cousins at trunk or treat
 Messy fun carving our pumpkins

 Best buddies and neighbors!

We took our first family camping trip before it got too cold. The kids loved it and are begging to go again!

Our little pilgrim at her class performance

Surprisingly, Bennett does not like to sing or do anything on stage. Thankfully his teachers love him and found a job that he was willing to do. He was in charge of wheeling in the christmas tree!

We had a fun time celebrating with Hawk and Casey at their amazing wedding!

It was good times at my beautiful cousin Kelly's wedding as well!

Happy Thanksgiving! They looked dashing in their party clothes if I do say so...
