I hate to disappoint my readers, but this post will not contain new pictures of Bennett. Last weekend me and 5 friends took off to Columbus, Ohio. We went to surprise our friend Erin. (She's the one in the pic with the parking meter...not sure why that was so close to our table.) She had no idea we were coming so it was really exciting when we pulled up and saw the surprise on her face. We had a great weekend! I was so nice to have some quality time with good friends. We did have some eventful moments. When we got to our hotel they were overbooked so we had to drive to another hotel for the first night. The second night we had to pack up all our stuff and drive back to the original hotel because the second one was full. The good news is that we got a suite for one night and we got both nights for free. We also got pulled over once for making and illegal u-turn. We were lost. Luckily the policeman was nice and gave us directions instead of a ticket. The huge dog in the picture with me is Zeus. He is a 220 lb English Mastiff. I'm not really a huge fan of dogs, but I really loved him. So anyway...thank you Houston for watching the little man so that I could have some girl time.

It's been awhile since our last update. We had a great 4th of July with lots of family around. We also saw three firework shows. In the past few weeks Bennett has learned so very much. He is now standing up by himself for short periods of time. He also waves, and just last night said Hi while he waved. These pictures were taken just afterward. It seems like he'll say what Houston says more that what I say. Houston was actually the first one to get him to day dada. Anyway, we've spent many days at the pool in the last few weeks but I have yet to take any pictures. I'll try to get some for my next post.
The video was taken at the pool of my wonderful niece Catelyn and her cousin/bff Abby. They are going to be famous for sure. If you would like to book one their concerts in the future you can just ask me to pencil you in.

Since some of the family is in Africa for the next several weeks we did Tuesday night dinner a little differently this week. Greg and Linda invited us out to their house for fishing and dinner. The food was excellent! I learned that B loves black-eyed peas. The fishing was also really good. Greg, Miles, and Houston caught several small blue gills and Greg caught a HUGE fish. It was too big for the fishing rod he caught it on so it eventually got away, but not before we all got a good look at it. The boys guessed it might have been about 45lbs. It was definitely my kind of fishing. All I had to do was sit back and watch the entertainment.
Apparently Selah has recently discovered her nose and enjoys sticking her finger up every now and then just to make sure everything is OK. What a cutie!
