It's so hard for me to believe, but Saturday was Bennett's first birthday! We had a fun day celebrating. We had some family and friends over for lunch and cake. Bennett was totally oblivious to the fact that he was supposed to be excited, but he did manage to be well behaved overall. Man, he is so incredibly cute! I have to say thank you to all the people who pitched in to make this such a special day for us: Mom, LeEllen, Stan, Misty, and Ashley. And thank you to Brook O'dell who made us the cutest monkey cake ever! I know there are pictures out there of all the kids together. I really wish I had gotten one with my camera for the post. Maybe someone will send me one and I can add it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN!

I am very, very excited about this post! A few weeks ago I went out and got some fabric with the intention of making Bennett a few outfits for this fall/winter. I had doubts as to whether I could actually accomplish my goal. A week or so ago I started on an outfit with lots of help from my very talented mother-in-law. We worked on it again Wednesday and I am happy to report that it is almost finished! I am so very proud of how it has turned out! Sewing is great for me because I get some instant gratification. The outfit still needs buttons and snaps at the bottom. Here are a few pictures. Bennett wasn't very cooperative with the fashion show, but you get the idea.

Last Friday night Houston, B, and I spent the night in Fayetteville with the Blacks. They took a break from their extremely busy schedule to show us some hospitality. We had some yummy spaghetti for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. Entertainment was provided mostly by Michael, though he did have some help from David. Andy was at a birthday party most of the night. My camera was acting up so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but I'll post what I have. Thanks guys!
While Houston was out shooting cute little innocent doves on Labor Day, Bennett, mom, and I went shopping! Since B has learned to walk it was time to get him some shoes. He was pretty funny trying them on his feet. He looks very grown up with them on. He also got some new pants for the fall. When we got home I couldn't resist trying some of his new stuff on him.
